NDIS Services at HandinHand

At HandinHand Mental Health & Disability, we are proud to be a registered NDIS provider offering a wide range of therapeutic and support services. Our team works alongside participants, families, carers, and support coordinators to ensure that every plan is tailored to the individual’s goals, needs, and aspirations.

We understand that no two journeys are the same. That’s why we provide flexible, person-centred services across behaviour support, social work, occupational therapy, and psychology to help participants live meaningful and independent lives.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

As part of our multidisciplinary approach, we offer Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) delivered by trained practitioners. PBS focuses on:

  • Understanding the function behind behaviours of concern.
  • Developing practical, proactive strategies to improve quality of life.
  • Supporting carers, families, and support staff to implement plans confidently.
  • Reducing restrictive practices and building capacity for independence.

PBS services are usually funded under Improved Relationships (Capacity Building Supports).

Social Work and NDIS

Our social workers provide practical and therapeutic support for participants and families, including:

  • Advocacy and support navigating systems and services.
  • Assistance with community connection and participation.
  • Counselling and psychosocial support for complex needs.
  • Helping families build sustainable support networks.

Social work services are typically funded under Capacity Building supports, focusing on emotional wellbeing, relationships, and community participation.

Occupational Therapy and NDIS

Our occupational therapists help participants to:

  • Develop daily living skills for independence at home, work, or in the community.
  • Improve sensory regulation, motor planning, and fine/gross motor skills.
  • Access assistive technology, equipment assessments, and home modifications.
  • Build confidence in everyday activities, routines, and transitions.

OT support may be funded under Capacity Building (Improved Daily Living, Improved Health & Wellbeing) or Core Supports depending on the participant’s plan.

Psychology and Counselling under the NDIS

Our psychologists support participants to:

  • Build coping strategies for anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress.
  • Develop social and communication skills.
  • Enhance emotional regulation and resilience.
  • Support transitions, daily living, and personal relationships.

Psychology services may be funded under Improved Daily Living (Capacity Building Supports). Sessions are offered face-to-face or via telehealth, depending on participant needs and preferences.
